What is the shelf life of the cakes?

Our pound cakes are made with a natural preservative that makes them stay fresh at room temperature for 10-14 days. Place in refrigerator and keep tightly wrapped for lasting freshness.  We recommend that you freeze the cakes if you are not planning to eat them within 2 weeks. To freeze your pound cake, leave it in its plastic wrap or original packaging and place it in a freezer bag. It can remain frozen 6 months to a year. To defrost your cake, leave at room temperature for 2-4 hours (depending on size).

Heaven’s Gate Catering is in the township of Stafford, Virginia.

Are checks accepted?

Heaven’s Gate Catering cannot accept orders paid with checks through our website. We only accept Visa and MasterCard and PayPal.

How do you package your pound cake for shipping? 

Our pound cakes are freshly baked then surrounded by paper or bubble wrap they go into a heavy corrugated container to be shipped to you.

 How are the pound cakes shipped?

We ship our pound cakes to anywhere in the continental US, using USPS

​

Why can't I order a Duet online?

Duets are currently only available for local pick-up. We might have it available for shipping soon, but it will be only in the fall and winter.

When do I have to place my order if I wanted it delivered this week?

Our pound cakes are made fresh-to-order.

Holiday Season & Mother's Day: If you are order on a Monday, we can guarantee you will receive it by Thursday or Friday (or earlier).

Normal times of the year:

We must receive your order before 12 noon (EST) three days before you want your pound cake  to arrive. Wednesday is the cut off for two-day delivery for the week. 

Coffee can usually be shipped out the same or next day.

 

What happens if the recipient is not home?

USPS will leave the package in a safe place at the address. 85% of our shipments are left at the door. If we had to depend on people being home during the day, nothing would get delivered! As an alternative, we recommend that you ship to a business address if possible or you can ship to someone’s home that you know is home during the day.

Do we roast the coffee?

Our coffees are roasted by an out-of-town roaster. Our wine coffee is roasted by a master roaster in California

Can I order my coffee in a different grind besides Drip and Whole bean?

Yes! We offer: COURSE, REGULAR, ELEC PERK, FINE, ESPRESSO and TURKISH.
